Gang Suppression emphasizes on creating partnerships targeting the gang members. Here are some key elements in gang suppression. 


  • Participating in joint probation/parole/police activities that may include searching homes, vehicles, or gang-related probationers/parolees.
  • Developing investigation methodologies for addressing specific crimes related to gangs.
  • Executing organized patrolling in those areas where the congregation of gang members is expected.
  • Holding community forms and address about the incidents.
  • Developing better prosecution strategies to ensure a better prosecution for gang-related crimes.
  • Contacting specific youngsters and their families informally. 
  • Using in-and-out of school suspensions as per need or requirement. 
  • Reporting and keeping track of grades and attendance to the intervention team and parole/probation.
